Big Delivery Day!

Given the triste tone of the past couple of days, it was nice to receive a few more items off our registry today. (See our Registry Page for listings.)

From my aunt and uncles Barb, Bruce and Frank: more place settings!  And so nicely wrapped, I took a picture of that, too!

We also got a package that included the Cuisinart microwave from our registry.  And, man o man, I must add that it’s a beauty.  I didn’t think I could like a microwave so much, but it cooks things in a jiffy.  Plus, because it’s all stainless steel, it’s super-easy to clean.  Many thanks to our friends Jarred and Karin for this!

Look, even Foofy (aka Leo) was excited about this one!!

Gifts from Up North

Arrived at home today after work to a fancy box of gifts: our first place settings!  Yay!  I really love these settings, I must add.  The design is called Precious Platinum and it’s by Royal Doulton.

Of course, this meant more silly photos…I am sensing a trend now…

All About You!

Mike and I have been getting a few queries about how formal the wedding actually is…To be frank, I don’t really care too much what everyone wears!  The groom’s posse will be wearing tuxes, and my bridesmaids wearing knee-length dresses.  So, I guess the best description would be semi-formal.  Keep in mind that the ceremony will be taking place on the beach just before sunset when deciding on your wardrobe choices.

Now, for the rest of your journey, you may want to check out the sites below:

*Swimsuits For All offers a wide range of suits for all shapes and sizes.

Free Ground Shipping

*Beauty.com pretty much always throws in some freebies with your order. Pick up a new lipgloss and some suntan lotion–this you will definitely need in the hot Florida sun!

Beauty.com

*Pick up a good book to read on the beach or by the pool:

Spring Blockbusters - Save up to 45% on the season's biggest releases!

*And, last but not least, my all-time faves for the summer: Dr. Scholl’s.

My team-mates at Target threw me a very nice shower, complete with a full table of food and a full table of gifts!  I really appreciate the time and effort they put into this for me, especially Liz and Debbie.  Thanks guys!!

Please see a gallery of photos below.  You can click on the images to see them in full size/not cropped.

PS: There will also be another bridal shower for friends and family at a later date.

Anonymous Gifting?

On this day, we received a whopping two gifts.  The UPS guy is starting to know who we are now.

Two Boxes in One Day!

Two Boxes in One Day!

As you can see in the photo, one is clearly from our Crate & Barrel registry.  The other gift wasn’t quite as obvious at first, but when we opening it, it was from our registry at Target.

The Crate & Barrel box contained a punch bowl set we had on the registry.  Thanks to Andy & Lisa Maillet, my cousin and cousin-in-law, for this great set!  We can’t wait to have a bash and use it with one of Mike’s delicious (and most likely dangerous) concoctions.

The box from the Target registry had the Kitchen Aid Dutch oven for which we had registered.  Again, another great item that is sure to be used soon, especially given the chillier temperatures we’ve been having down here.  However, I guess Target forgot to include the gift card in the box, so we don’t know who gave this!  If you are out there reading this, please contact us (gailmikewedding@gmail.com).  We want to give you credit for gifting this marvelous cooking pot.

And now, to show our lighter side…This is how Mike thought we should use the aforementioned punch bowl:

I know, we are silly.  But isn’t that why you love us??

Gift Numero Dos

So, I’ve been a bit lame about updating this site. And even lamer about adding any new photos!

On March 4th, we received a gift from our Bed Bath and Beyond Registry. How exciting–another gift so soon after the first!

And he is such a gentleman, I was allowed to open it!  (OK, he didn’t have much choice…)

Gail and the New Wineglasses

Gail and the New Wineglasses

Yay!  It’s the Riedel Wineglass set we had on the registry!  We were so excited to get these–Thanks so much to Mike Petersen!!  He is my long-lost cousin and fellow family tree afficionado.  And even the cats were excited about this one.  Here is Leo exploring:

Organization

Murphy’s Law: You find something you need after you don’t really need it anymore. Google has set up a suite of templates for wedding planning on their “Google Docs” area. Some good ones, too! While I don’t really need any of them now, there may be a few things I’ll try out. So, if anyone out there is reading this while they are planning, be sure to check it out HERE.

Honeymoon Thoughts?

Has anyone been here?

Spring Sale at Sandals Resorts

Sandals seems a bit cheesy, but we’ve been thinking we like the “all-inclusive” aspect. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?? Please comment and let us know!!
