THE Dress Has Been Found!

So very exciting!! We had a ladies’ day out at Jon’s Bridal in Tampa: my mom, my aunt, my mom’s best friend and her sister all attended to me. There were two dresses that were front runners…but everyone said how nice the final choice looked, so I was sold, too. Unfortunately, I can’t really share any photos yet. You’ll just have to wait for the big day. But Jon’s was great!! Our salesperson Gigi really helped whittle down the many choices. Even better, all their dresses are off-the-rack; meaning, no waiting for the “real” dress to arrive and only trying on samples. My dress will be at home with me within the week! Now, how do I hide it from the fiance when we are in a one-bedroom apartment??

Maybe I am going about things the wrong way. I seem to be all over the board–looking at reception sites, then dresses, then thinking about where to honeymoon, then back to the beginning. But I guess that’s just me. I don’t need too much order…

Color Pallette

So here’s a tidbit to look forward to: the color pallette!

Mike & I went to Home Depot today and found these chips from the selection of Behr paint. Their website was quite useful in getting a little clip for the blog. They actually have some really cool functions on there, but I digress.

I wanted something refined, light, and airy, but also to keep in mind a beach setting. (Shane would say WASPy, but he’s probably right!) And looking at them here, I like it even more!

Well, I haven’t been “dress shopping” yet, I have begun to look online at some of the styles. Most are pretty generic: a-line, strapless. You know I will want something a little bit different!!

I hope you know by now I jest! But I just can’t believe someone would design this for a wedding, much less someone would choose to wear it!?! I mean, the bows on the elbows…
